Get to Know Atelier Go: New Help and Walkthrough Lessons
You’ve got a lovely collection of artwork, an idea for a card and a little time to yourself. You open Atelier Go, ready to get creative… and then comes the question: “Where do I click?”
That’s exactly why I’m so pleased to share the new help section and walkthrough lessons we’ve been building into Atelier. We want you to feel comfortable exploring, trying things and making the most of your collections, with guidance close at hand when you need it.
A creative space for your ideas
Atelier Go by Pearlywinks brings your papers, artwork and sentiments into one creative workspace. You can arrange a card front, personalise a design with your own wording, build up layers and explore effects, shapes, frames and more. There are E-Cards to discover too, including animation and personal voice messages.
With so much to explore, having a little help along the way makes a difference. You shouldn’t have to remember every button before you can enjoy making something.
Find the answer in the How To section in the help menu
The new How To section gives you somewhere to turn when you need an explanation or a reminder. Search for the subject you’re working on, or browse the categories: Getting Started, Tools & Functions, Things You Can Create, Vault & Files, Print & Export, and Tips & Shortcuts.
Perhaps you want to understand layers, connect your Vault, add a shadow or work out the difference between saving a project and exporting your finished artwork. The guides explain what to do, while Controls Explained gives you more detail about the buttons and settings involved.
You’ll also find help with creative tools such as Textures, Page Curl, Word Clouds, Brushes and Double Exposure. It’s somewhere you can return to whenever you fancy trying something different.
Learn while you create - Atelier Lessons in the help menu
Atelier Lessons takes that guidance into the workspace itself. These walkthroughs guide you through a task while you use the actual tools and controls in Atelier.
A lesson panel explains each stage, and highlights draw your attention to the part of the screen you need. You can move the panel out of the way, go back over a step and use Next to continue through the guidance. You get to practise as you learn, with your project right there in front of you.
There’s no need to remember a whole demonstration before having a go. Take it a stage at a time, have a little play and give yourself room to get familiar with it.
Choose the lessons that suit you
Getting Started covers the foundations, including adding an image, moving and resizing artwork, adding text, working with layers, and saving, exporting and printing your work.
Create More helps you explore techniques such as shadows, outlines, cropping, shapes, frames, Patterns, Stamparing™, Textures, Page Curl and Word Clouds.
The E-Cards lessons take you through creating a cover and inside, adding animation and scene effects, recording a voice message, previewing the result and preparing your card to share.
You can choose the lesson you need, see which ones you’ve completed and repeat them when you want a refresher. There’s no prize for remembering everything first time. If there were, I suspect most of us would still be waiting for ours!
Start with one small thing
If you’ve been a little nervous about using Atelier, choose one thing you’d like to learn. It might be adding a favourite character to a page or putting your own sentiment on a card. Those small steps soon give you more confidence to try the next idea.
Open Atelier Go through the Pearlywinks website, then open the Help menu. Choose How To… to browse or search the guidance, or Atelier Lessons… to follow a walkthrough.
